Applet: Projectile |
1) Use the Angle Slider to select the launch angle above the horizontal.
2) Use the Speed Slider to select the initial speed of the projectile.
3) Use the Fire Button to view the projectile's path.
4) Use the Clear Button to hide the projectile's path.
1) Maximum Range of the projectile. Range means how far the projectile will travel horizontally.
2) Total Time of flight.
3) Maximum height reached YMax at horizontal position X.
McGraw-Hill Ryerson Mathematics 12 Preparing for College & Apprenticeship, Section 7.4, Page 334.
1) Use the Clear Button to hide the path if it is visible.
2) State a target at a random range between 10 m and 200 m.
3) Selects an angle with the Angle Slider, a speed with the Speed Slider, and press the Fire Button.
4) The path appears, and the range of the projectile is displayed at the upper left. A shot that lands withing 5 m of the target is considered a hit.
5) If you miss the target, clear the path with the Clear Button. Select a new angle and speed, and fire again.
6) Continue this process until the target is hit. Then, state a new target.
7) This applet will help you gain an empirical feel for the properties of projectile motion.
